A few weeks ago, we interviewed RN. Neither of our interviewers had encountered anyone from his country of origin previously, Western Sahara. It’s a small country in North Africa bordered by Morocco, Algeria and Mauritania.
His English was virtually non-existent. We wondered how we would get through the interview. We discovered the two languages he spoke were Arabic and some Italian. Fortunately Nico, one of the two interviewers, was Italian! When he was taken to the house he was met by one of our supporters, Ali, who speaks Arabic having lived in the Middle East for a number of years. R was somewhat surprised! A guided tour of the house in his own language!
