Open Hands is Governed by the Board of Trustees who are all passionate about the Project and are actively involved in reaching out to the vulnerable, poor and marginalized people of Sheffield.

Jonathan Bennett (Chair)

Jonathan has lived in Sheffield for nearly 40 years. He has been involved with the charity since its inception in 2007. He is married to Sarah and they have four children and three grandchildren.

 

 

Brian Gooch (Company secretary and treasurer)

Brian is a tax adviser and a qualified accountant, and is a trustee of his church.  He has lived in Sheffield with his wife Amanda for 30 years, and they have two adult children.

Nico Pugliese

Nico is an Open hands trustee, he previously worked as refugee service coordinator for the British Red Cross for over 5 years, and now works occasionally for the International Red Cross responding to emergencies overseas. Nico has an extensive humanitarian background, worked as Nurse, and has been involved in several health and relief projects. He has also been involved in various charities in Sheffield, including Assist and the Archer Project. He currently runs an online trading business and he is married with two sons.

Phil Johnson

Phil moved to Sheffield in 1994 and works for Sheffield City Council. He lives in Gleadless with his wife Sandi and their 2 year old Bassett Hound Mabel. He has been a Trustee with Open Hands since the Charity started, and has had various spells being a house manager over the years.Phil is very interested in military history and is a keen wargamer. He also         enjoys watching sport.

                                  Ian Prescott

Ian is a Chartered Engineer and Company Director working within the residential property, transportation and infrastructure projects in the UK. He is actively involved in a number of charities in Sheffield and has been a Trustee of Open Hands since 2012.
