Chish was an Open Hands guest and still visits us at Monday Meals. The Guardian have reported an experience he had recently:

Attending what he thought was a typical appointment to allow the Home Office to update their records, Chish was instead met by a Zimbabwean government official in Sheffield.

Following a shift in Zimbabwean politics, the UK is now seeking to deport Zimbabwean asylum seekers back home, often giving only a few day’s notice to affected individuals!

While this affects many people all over the UK, it’s particularly noteworthy to us because of our friendship with Chish.

The Guardian reports that people left Zimbabwe for various reasons but usually because they were in danger because of the political involvement.
